What is a Presidential Memorial Certificate?
A Presidential Memorial Certificate (PMC) is an engraved certificate, signed by the current President, to honor the memory of honorably discharged deceased veterans. The certificate expresses the country’s grateful appreciation and recognition of service in the Armed Forces. Eligible recipients include the deceased veteran’s next of kin and loved ones. The completed VA form 40-0247 and discharge papers (DD214) may be faxed toll free to the National Cemetery Administration at 1-800-455-7143. For more information, visit
