Stranger Abducts and Sexually Assaults Four-Year Old Girl

District Attorney Hogan and the Pa. State Police announced the arrest of defendant Humberto Guzman-Garcia for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a four-year old girl in Avondale. The defendant was a stranger to the victim and the victim's family.

Trooper-Involved Shooting in Avondale

The District Attorney's Office and the Pennsylvania State Police announced that there was a trooper-involved shooting in Avondale at approximately 11:30 p.m. on May 23, 2018. Three Troopers discharged their weapons. Nobody was injured in the shooting.

Ben Martin: Doctor and Detective

Chester County Detective Ben Martin now will be referred to by his colleagues in law enforcement as "Doctor Martin." Detective Martin recently received his Ph.D. in Leadership from Alvernia University.

Charges Filed in North Coventry, Phoenixville, and Valley Township Homicides

Tom Hogan announced the filing of charges for three defendants in the North Coventry case, two defendants in the Phoenixville case, and one defendant in the Valley Township case. Brian Corsey, the shooter in the Phoenixville case, is still at-large.
