[ARCHIVED] Assistant Fire Marshal Receives Scholarship

DiNunzio, Gerry 2017

Congratulations to Gerry DiNunzio, Assistant Fire Marshal, Chester County Department of Emergency Services and Deputy Chief for Goshen Fire Company, for being selected a recipient of a 2018 Educational Scholarship from the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Foundation.

Gerry is using his scholarship to off-set tuition in obtaining his Bachelors of Science in Fire Science degree from Anna Maria University. “I chose the IAFC (to apply for a scholarship) as they support volunteers to better themselves and help reach their goals to obtain degrees,” Gerry stated, “I’m hoping to use my education to better myself as a Chief Officer and Fire Marshal.”  He is expecting to graduate in March 2019.

“Fire Marshal DiNunzio brings a vast amount of experience to the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office from his background in Law Enforcement as well as the fire service. His completion of his Bachelor’s degree will serve him well in the future and support his future with the job performance requirements of fire investigation,” stated Chief Fire Marshal John Weer.

The IAFC educational scholarship was established to assist men and women in their pursuit of a career in the fire and emergency services.  “As a recipient, you represent the future of the fire service’s commitment to lead, service and protect our communities,” stated Anthony Campisi, President, IAFC Foundation.
