At the recent Willistown Township Board of Supervisors meeting, three Department of Emergency Services Telecommunicators were recognized for helping to save a life of a 3 year old drowning victim. "The quick actions of the child's grandparents by calling 9-1-1," stated Chief John Narcise, Willistown Township Police Department, "along with first responders from Willistown Township Police Department, Paoli Fire Company and Berwyn Fire Company, this child is happy and healthy today."
Fire Dispatcher John Tuohy, Calltaker Jennifer Clark, and Police Dispatcher Jon Kromer, were the Telecommunicators involved in the incident on June 10. The 9-1-1 call was received and processed within 56 minutes with first units arriving within 5 minutes. During the dispatch process, Jennifer provided the caller with emergency medical instructions and forwarded situational updates to the responders.
At the Supervisors Meeting both the father and grandparents of the child expressed their deepest appreciation for the help they received from all the emergency responders that day.
