[ARCHIVED] Chester County Planning Commission Launches Photo Contest

The Chester County Planning Commission is launching a photo contest and is seeking submissions on favorite places to have fun, take a walk or just relax in Chester County.

The contest is part of Chester County’s update process for its comprehensive plan which currently falls under the banner of Landscapes2.  The update – Landscapes3 – will help Chester County to remain focused on the smart way to redirect growth in the county, protect open space and revitalize the county’s towns and communities.

The Planning Commission photo contest is open to anyone who lives, works, or plays in Chester County.  Prizes for the winning photos will be awarded and the contest runs through November 25, 2016. To submit a photo, go to the Planning Commission website.

In addition to prizes for the top three photos, participants may have their photo featured in the Landscapes3 plan or on the website.  

Photo contest prizes were donated by Dansko, Longwood Gardens, and Brandywine Conservancy and Museum of Art.  First place - Dansko gift card and prize package (retail value of $225); second place - Longwood Gardens gift card (retail value of $150); and third place - Brandywine River Museum complimentary admission tickets and Millstone Café lunch vouchers for a party of four (retail value $125).

Chester County is the first county in Pennsylvania to initiate a strategic planning process and has a Aaa rating on its bonds from Moody’s Investors Service as well as AAA ratings from Standard & Poor’s and Fitch Ratings.  Established by William Penn as one of Pennsylvania’s three original counties, Chester County has been named by as one of America’s best places to raise a family and is ranked the healthiest county in Pennsylvania by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
