Statement from the Chester County Commissioners regarding the tragic death of George Floyd

As individuals, and together, we are saddened by the injustice of  George Floyd’s death.  We express our deepest condolences to Mr. Floyd’s family, his friends and to everyone who has wept at the unnecessary, painful final minutes of his life. Although many of us will never know firsthand, the cloud of pain and suppression that hangs heavy over so many people of color in America today, we do share in the anger and the hurt.

As elected officials in our Chester County community we will continue to prioritize community conversations, to listen, learn and discern the best way forward. We firmly believe in and participate in peaceful dialogue about ways to remove inequality and injustice in our community. We are proud that protests occurring in Chester County are peaceful and respectful; it’s the Chester County way.
