Chester County Veteran ID & Discount Card Processing
Thursday, October 7, 2021
Veterans of West Goshen Township and surrounding areas of Chester County will be able to advantage of the Recorder of Deeds' Military Discharge and County Veteran ID & Discount Programs a little closer to home. Veterans who record their discharge document(s) on-site will then be eligible to immediately receive a county-issued Photo ID card. A collection of roughly 100 Chester County businesses
partner with the Recorder of Deeds to offer various discounts and specials to veterans who present their County ID Card. The Recorder of Deeds does not charge Veterans a fee for either of these services. Masks will be mandatory.
Veterans should bring: 1) DD-214 (original or photocopy) or other military discharge document(s), and 2) a current form of Photo ID (i.e. driver's license, state-issued ID, U.S. Passport).
Why is this helpful? If a fire, natural disaster, relocation or other event results in the loss of your original document(s), the Recorder of Deeds will have its image stored in perpetuity, so Veterans and their families can easily request certified replacement copies from our office at a later time for Veteran's status or benefits. Veterans who resided in another county/state when they were discharged may have had their DD-214 recorded in that county/state, however, it is recommended that the veteran also record the DD-214 in the county where the veteran currently resides.
Also in attendance to provide additional resources for local Veterans will be a representative from Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan’s office, the Coatesville VA Medical Center and the Veterans' Multi-Service Center of Downingtown.
The West Goshen Township Municipal Building is located at the corner of Paoli Pike and North 5 Points Road in West Chester.
Again, all visitors must wear a face covering. Please stay updated on COVID-19 restrictions for this event through the ROD website and WestGoshen.org.
