Non-Secure Shelter Program

The shelter program provides emergency and temporary non-secure housing for dependent females ranging in age from 10 to 21 who live in the County of Chester. Only youth who are under the jurisdiction of the Chester County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Probation, and/or the Department of Children, Youth and Families may be authorized for admission to this program.

The goal of the shelter program is to create an environment that fosters the social, emotional, academic, and physical development of the residents. The highly structured daily activities include educational, recreational, competency-development programming and workshops.

Other services provided are medical, dental, psychological, psychiatric, and diagnostic.

Visitation

In order to foster family reunification, liberal and flexible visiting hours are provided to the youth’s parent or guardians. Juvenile probation officers, Children Youth and Family caseworkers, and other professional providers, as authorized by the Chester County Court of Common Pleas, are welcome to visit at any time.
