APPRISE is a free health insurance counseling program designed to help older Pennsylvanians with Medicare. It is conducted under the auspices of the Chester County Department of Aging and the Pennsylvania State Insurance Program.
APPRISE Volunteers fill two very important needs:
- Counseling: Counselors are specially trained volunteers who can answer questions about Medicare and provide objective, easy-to-understand information about Medicare, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, Medicaid, and Long-Term Care Insurance.
- Outreach: Volunteers are also needed to develop partnerships with other organizations in Chester County. Activities envisioned include establishing contacts with non-profits, setting up presentations on Medicare, distribution of material on APPRISE, identifying possible new volunteers, and marketing activities.
If you are interested in joining a team of dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers, please call 610-344-5004 and leave your name and phone number on our voice message center. Your call will be returned within 24 hours.
