What is Infant/Toddler Early Intervention?

While all children grow and develop in unique way, some children experience delays in their development.  The Infant/Toddler Early Intervention program provides support to families with children, from birth to age three, with developmental delays and disabilities.  Early Intervention enhances each family’s capacity to meet the needs of their child in the settings where children live, learn and play.

  • Can help parents and caregiver to work with their child in their home, childcare center, Heat Start program, or other settings familiar to the family.
  • Early Intervention supports and services are embedded in typical routines and activities to support the child’s participation and independence.
  • Early Intervention services are provided at no cost to families.
