Volunteer Emergency Services Tax Rebate Program

In October 2023, the Chester County Commissioners enacted a tax rebate program for volunteer members of fire companies and not-for-profit emergency service agencies. Further details are provided in Ordinance 2023-01 and the Program Policies and Procedures

  • Eligibility Period: January 1 – December 31
  • Eligibility List posted in accessible area in Agency’s facilities: January 31
  • Notarized Eligibility List submitted to Chester County CFO: February 15
  • Individual Self-Identification Form deadline: January 15 of the following year
  • Rebates issued: Within 45 days of approval


Agency supervisors must submit an eligibility list to the Chester County Finance Department no later than February 15 of each year.

Please note that the eligibility spreadsheet was updated on January 10, 2024. Please do not submit the prior version.

  • Fill out the points sheet tab on the Eligibility List spreadsheet for each volunteer.
  • When completed, print the Eligibility List tab.
  • Submit the signed, dated, and notarized eligibility list to [email protected] no later than February 15.
