The Chester County Detectives (CCD), led by Chief County Detective David M. Sassa, is the investigative arm of the District Attorney’s Office, and has jurisdiction over the entire county. The 22 members of the CCD have distinct areas of expertise, and many were recruited as the “best of the best” from other law enforcement agencies.
The CCD assists prosecutors in investigating and trying major crimes, such as homicides, drug investigations, child abuse, sex crimes, political corruption, and white-collar crime. Additionally, the CCD supports other law enforcement agencies in complex investigations, coordinates police training across Chester County, and acts as a critical link between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
