Medicare Annual Open Enrollment Period, October 15 to December 7
You can join, switch or disenroll from a Part D Prescription Drug Plan, a Medicare Advantage Plan, or switch to original Medicare with or without a Medicare Part D Plan. The counselors will also check to see if you qualify for any financial assistance programs to help paying for prescription drugs or Part B premium.
Counseling is available at some libraries and at the West Bradford Township Building, please call 610-344-5234 and leave your name and phone number so that we will call you back to schedule an appointment. If you would like an appointment at a senior center, please contact the center directly using the information at the bottom of this page.
All counseling sessions are conducted in person, by phone or Zoom and presentations are presented via Zoom or in person. Please see specific presentations.
PA MEDI counselors are specially trained to answer your questions about Medicare and provide you with objective, easy-to-understand information about health insurance. Specifically, PA MEDI can answer your questions about Medicare, Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap), Medicaid and long-term care insurance as well as prescription drug plans.
The counselors will also screen you to see if you qualify for any financial assistance programs to get help paying for your prescription drugs or Part B premium. Please call one of the counseling sites listed below to schedule an appointment.

Medicare 101
If you will be joining the ranks of Medicare soon, are already in the Medicare system and have questions, or you just want to understand what this federal program is all about, this session is for you. Learn about Medicare Parts A (Hospital Insurance), B (Medical Insurance), C (Medicare Advantage) and D (Drug Coverage); types of health care insurance available in Chester County, including Medigaps, aka Medicare Supplement Insurance, Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amounts (IRMAA), benefits available for low-income beneficiaries and things to consider when selecting your medical coverage. There will be time for questions and answers after the presentation.
Medicare 102 - Understanding Your Medicare
This event is for people who already have Medicare and want a refresher and better understanding of their benefits, help for low-income beneficiaries, Special Enrollment Periods, changes due to the Inflation Reduction Act, preventing Medicare fraud and more.
Medicare Update AOEP- Fine Tune Your Medicare
This event helps those with Medicare prepare for the Medicare Annual Open Enrollment Period (AOEP) which takes place from from October 15th – December 7th by reviewing the basics of Medicare and explaining their coverage options for the upcoming year.
These presentations are presented by Chester County PA MEDI counselors. Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight (PA MEDI), is a free, unbiased health insurance counseling program designed to help all Pennsylvanians with Medicare. PA MEDI counselors are specially trained staff and volunteers who can answer your questions and provide you with objective, easy-to-understand information about Medicare.
