Volunteers

We understand the importance of getting out into nature. People come to our parks for many different reasons. Some love to get lost for a bit and explore new trails. Others love to revisit their favorite spot again and again. The nature, history, and community that make up our parks gives everyone something they need and now there’s another reason to visit a Chester County park – volunteer projects!

Chester County Parks Volunteer Program is designed to involve residents in volunteer activities associated with County parks and trails! Opportunities exist at Hibernia County Park, Nottingham County Park, Springton Manor Farm, Warwick County Park, Wolf's Hollow Park, Black Rock Sanctuary, and Exton Park. Volunteer opportunities are also available with the numerous miles of trails that stretch along the Chester Valley Trail, Schuylkill River Trail, and Struble Trail. Getting involved is your opportunity to be a part of making a difference in your community. There are always volunteer opportunities for all interests and skills! Examples of volunteer opportunities include hedgerow cleanups and tree plantings within the parks.

Come help us improve the very nature we all love by becoming a park volunteer. Park Rangers and Stewardship Staff will teach you the basics of forest restoration, invasive species management, trail maintenance techniques and more. All these skills can be used in your own backyard and in the end your hard work will help the nature you’ve come to love.

Let’s Help Each Other Stay Safe:

Volunteers and Park staff must wear a mask during the welcome circle and introductions. As per PA Department of Health orders, you must wear a mask if you are unable to maintain a distance of six feet from individuals who are not members of your household.

If you are sick or not feeling well, please stay home.
