2020 Volunteer Projects

NOTICE: The following volunteer projects have been put on hold until Fall, 2020 due to COVID-19.  Currently, we are not accepting volunteers until we have confirmed new dates.

Chester County Parks will hold the following volunteer projects for 2020. All volunteer events are suitable for ages 12 and older. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Tools, gloves, water and snacks will be provided at each event. Please bring a fillable water bottle and wear closed-toed shoes.

Hedgerow Cleanup and Tree Planting at Springton Manor Farm

Volunteers will help remove invasives from a hedgerow to prepare the area for fall planting. Volunteers will help plant native, edible trees and shrubs in the former orchard area near the park office.

Horseshoe Trail Tree Planting at Warwick Park

Volunteers will plant trees along a section of the Horseshoe Trail to improve the understory and stream bank stability. 

Forest Edge Tree Planting at Wolf's Hollow

Volunteers will plant trees to reforest an open field area starting along the forest edges. 

West Branch Brandywine Creek Tree Planting at Hibernia Park

Volunteers will plant trees along a section of the West Branch Brandywine Creek and within a large picnic area to restore a riparian buffer that will help improve stream bank stability and protect the creek.
