Tobacco and E-Cigarette Prevention
The coalition celebrates two tobacco-free events annually: a youth initiative, Kick Butts Day, every March and the Great American Smokeout in November. Coalition members are always available to staff an informative health fair table or present school, worksite or community based programming on a variety of prevention topics.
- General Tobacco Prevention for youth or adults, including local statistics, local resources and a general overview of varying tobacco products.
- The Truth About Vaping for youth or adults focusing on the reality of trending electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS).
- Preparing for Cessation for caregivers or current smokers interested in quitting; focusing on local cessation resources, how to plan for your quit date, how to be a supportive caregiver during the cessation process and an overview of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) options.
