Judge Royer was born in El Paso, Texas and grew up in Nottingham, Chester County. She received her B.A. in Government from the College of William and Mary in 1989, her J.D. from the Widener University School of Law in 1992, and her LL.M. in Taxation from the Villanova University School of Law in 2008.
Judge Royer engaged in the private practice of law from 1992 through 2015, handling civil, criminal, Orphans’ Court and family law matters. She was elected to the Court of Common Pleas in November, 2015, taking her oath of office in January, 2016. Judge Royer previously served two terms as the Prothonotary of Chester County from December of 1995 until January of 2004.
