Chester County Volunteer Rainfall Observer Network
Chester County is very fortunate to have a number of volunteers serve as rainfall observers throughout the County. Currently, there are about 18 volunteers throughout the County that record precipitation as part of the Chester County Volunteer Rainfall Observer Network.
Our rainfall observation network was started in the late-1970’s, and is maintained to collect precipitation data that provide a relative index of rainfall across the county and to provide information regarding severe weather events. The volunteer observers keep track of daily rainfall and snow totals, and to send a rainfall/snow record report within two weeks of month’s end.
