Chester County is currently in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s green phase as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the restrictions being upheld during the green phase, Chester County Government and Courts are operating on limited services with many of our staff continuing to provide services and programs while working from home

Annual Assessment Appeal Filing
Pursuant to PA assessment law, the filing deadline for all annual assessment appeals, including exemption appeals is May 1st through the first business day in August.
The Tax Equalization Division has officially set the Chester County Common Level Ratio (CLR) at 47%. The CLR will be effective for all annual appeals heard by the Board of Assessment Appeals during 2020 (Board decisions will be effective for real estate tax bills issued in 2021) and any interim appeals with an effective date of 7/1/2020 through 6/30/21.
Clean and Green Program Enrollment
For 2020 only, the PA Department of Agriculture has extended the Act 319 application filing deadline from March 1 to October 15.
Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion Enrollment
December 15th through the first business day in March.
