Margaret Reif
Margaret Reif was sworn in as Chester County's Controller in January, 2018. As Controller, Margaret is responsible for maintaining, for Chester County, proper accounting records and processes, paying County bills, managing payroll and retirement benefits on behalf of County employees, performing internal audits for County departments, and preparing the County's annual comprehensive annual financial reports. Margaret also serves as a member of the Chester County Prison Board, Chester County Salary Board, and Secretary of the Chester County Retirement Board.
Margaret has been a resident of Chester County since 1992, having moved to the area from New York. After graduating from the University of Scranton in 1990 with a degree in Economics and Finance, Margaret worked in the financial industry before starting, along with her husband Joe, a successful family business in 1993. Over the years, she has been active in her community, volunteering for a variety of non-profits focusing particularly on at-risk children and open space. Most recently, Margaret had been employed as the Controller for a Chester County area non-profit.
