The Office of the Recorder of Deeds is the repository for documents primarily relating to real estate located in Chester County Pennsylvania. These documents include deeds, mortgages, rights-of-way, powers-of-attorney as well as other
lesser known records, such as bonds and commissions for
notaries and elected officials.
The Recorder of Deeds is elected to office for a four year term. Rick Loughery was elected in the November 2011 general election and took office in January 2012. His background includes government management, public administration and prior experience as a township auditor and analyst to Commissioner Terence Farrell.
Our office and research library are located in the Borough of West Chester on the 3rd floor of 313 West Market Street.
