Chester County has received the “tentative” Common Level Ratio of 60.2% from the State Tax Equalization Board. The CLR will not become official until voted on by STEB at their meeting scheduled for 6/19/13. We will publish the new CLR on our website as soon as it becomes official.

EXEMPTION APPEALS
With Act 93 amendments to the Pennsylvania consolidated county assessment law, the exemption appeal filing window is now the same as that for annual appeals. The filing window is May 1 through August 1 annually.
The State Tax Equalization Board (STEB) has released the Chester County Common Level Ratio of 59%. This ratio will be used by the Board of Assessment Appeals when deciding annual appeals filed during 2012.
Mission Statement
To follow the directives under state statute to accomplish the timely/accurate certified tax roll of all Chester County property assessments. Promote and maintain a high standard for customer service in supplying updated and accurate valuation/ownership/history data to property owners and the multitude of customers that rely on property data to carry on their daily operations.
Goals and Objectives
- Validate property sales and enter values into Integrated Assessment System (IAS).
- Routine capture of the property image and enter into the system.
- Carry forth provisions of the Homestead program along with public education on the program.
