Town Tours & Village Walks
Town Tours & Village Walks is a series of free summer strolls through historic neighborhoods, hamlets, villages and sites. Join us to explore Chester County’s heritage on Thursday evenings, June 13 – August 22. Tours begin at 5:30pm (continuing every 5 to 10 minutes) and generally last 50 minutes. The last tour leaves at 7:00 pm unless daylight allows for additional tours. Each tour is designed to inform, entertain and increase awareness of Chester County’s rich heritage and historic landscapes. A number of our sites offer a good selection of restaurants and shops to enjoy after your tour. More information is available at

Getting Started as a Planning Commissioner
The Chester County Planning Commission has developed an
on-line resource to help newly appointed municipal planning commissioners become acclimated to their volunteer position in your municipality. Planning commissioners have an opportunity to make a difference in shaping the future of your municipality provided they are fully informed of their responsibilities and the resources available to them.
Planning Tool Kit
The planning
tool kit is designed to help municipal leaders and planning commissioners implement the policies of Landscapes2. Successful implementation of the plan, requires partnering with local municipalities in order to bring growth and preservation together.
The
tool kit provides a series of actions available to municipalities and interested citizens that conserve energy, promote our economy, respect the environment, and achieve sustainable practices. Tools will explore their value, their appropriateness based on the type of landscape your municipality is located, and provide a road map for how each can be implemented. To allow further exploration, case studies, examples and links are included. Tools will be released roughly every two weeks throughout the spring.
Community Profiles
The
Community Profiles Interactive Data Resource has been upgraded to allow users to create their own custom study area. The user created area can consist of any combination of municipalities. This option provides users with greater flexibility in meeting their data needs. Many of the data tables have been updated, also.
