New Inmate Locator is now available for confirming active Chester County inmates
The Inmate Locator contains information about each inmate currently under the jurisdiction of the Chester County Prison. The Inmate Locator is a useful tool for confirming information about inmates currently housed in the facility: the inmate's ID Number, case number and what they are being held for. ( H - Hearing, C - Court, S - Sentence). The Inmate Locator does not contain information on inmates not currently residing in the Chester County Prison.

Visitation Alert
Due to impending storm and weather conditions, all inmate visitation and inmate programs will be effectively canceled from 6 p.m. on Monday January 26th thru 8:30 a.m. Wednesday January 28th . All affected parties are instructed to call the Prison prior to coming out to  verify that inmate visitation has been reinstated.

Unfortunately, there maybe times when due to health concerns of a “pandemic nature” we will be forced to alter and or cancel our inmate visitation schedule.  More Information

Inmate Financial Responsibility Change
The Chester County Prison Board on 6-18-14 amended the current I. F. R. (Inmate Financial Responsibility) Program to include the following:

Effective 8-1-14 all inmates who are committed on or after this date will be charged an $85.00 booking / processing fee. This fee will apply and be assessed to an inmate’s account upon initial commitment.  An initial commitment includes, but is not limited to, an inmate’s entry to the Prison on criminal charges (Felony, Misdemeanor and/or Summary Offenses), violation of the terms and conditions of Probation/Parole, violation of Bail rules and regulations and whenever the inmate is issued an inmate ID number. There will be no additional Booking/Processing Fee assessed for an inmate after initial commitment with an existing ID number. However, if an inmate is officially discharged from the Prison and is subsequently recommitted thereby reactivating his or her inmate ID number, a new Booking/Processing Fee will be assessed.

Should an inmate not have sufficient funds on his/her account at the time of commitment to cover the entire fee, a negative account balance will be created. Should he/she have a negative account balance due to the unpaid current Booking/Processing fee, and/or a previous unpaid Booking/Processing fee of record, he/she will not be eligible to participate in Commissary and Block Phone access until the current and any prior unpaid fees are paid in full. All financial transactions will be made through the Inmate Accounts Department.
