Annual Enrollment Medicare Beneficiaries
The enrollment period for Medicare advantage plans (HMOs, PFFS, and MSAs) and prescription drug plans (stand-alone drug plans) has changed for 2011. You must change your plan or re-enroll during the period of Oct 15 to Dec 7. If you miss this time, you will not be able to change your plan. You should get notification from your current plan in early October.
If you need help deciding which plan is best for you, APPRISE volunteers can help you with your choices. Please see the
on the Aging home page for a complete list of dates and locations for special enrollment events taking place from October into December throughout the county.
If you will be joining the ranks of Medicare soon, are already in the Medicare system and have questions, or you just want to understand what this Medicare is all about, this session is for you!
At these sessions members of the
program will present an overview of Medicare including the definitions of Medicare A, B, C; explanation of the drug benefit (Part D), types of health care insurance available in Chester County, benefits available for low income beneficiaries and things to consider when selecting your medical coverage. A question and answer session will follow the presentations.
Please check the Calendar on the Aging home page of the website for dates, locations and times for these sessions. If you would like to learn more now, please click on the following shortcut so that you can view or download a copy of the Medicare 101 Presentation!
