Wolf's Hollow County Park
1399 Schoff Road, Atglen, PA 19310
Located 5 miles northwest of Routes 10 & 41 in Cochranville

On December 6, 2010, the Chester County Commissioners officially opened Wolf’s Hollow County Park, the county’s sixth regional park site, in Atglen, West Fallowfield Township.

Wolf's Hollow County Park's 569 acres are bounded on the north and west sides by the Octoraro Creek. The entrance off Schoff Road leads to a trailhead parking lot. The miles of trails within the park are for hiking only.

Park hours are 8:00 AM to sunset, year-round (closed on Christmas Day). Dogs are permitted on a 6' leash. Wolf's Hollow is designated as a Carry In/ Carry Out Area and all Chester County Rules & Regulation apply.

A Park in Progress

Modern parks increasingly are purposeful, planned projects. The acquisition and development of a regional park in southwestern Chester County was first proposed in a 1982 Chester County Open Space and Recreation Study, which also recommended the Schoff Farm property as a potential park site. An open space bond issue, ratified by County voters in 1989, created the financial means to pursue established goals.

Careful negotiations resulted in a 1998 agreement for Chester County to purchase the property within a 10 year window of tenancy, an arrangement which permitted the owners to remain on the property in exchange for a reduced purchase price.

Initial planning of park features began during the tenancy, and work began in earnest when the property was fully-transferred to County ownership in 2001. Twenty-eight years of planning and development led to the formal opening of Wolf’s Hollow County Park on December 6, 2010 in West Fallowfield Township. More is yet to come, as we begin to craft a comprehensive master plan likely to detail several phases of development over the next 15 years and beyond.

Today, Wolf’s Hollow is 569 acres bounded on the north and west sides by the Octoraro Creek. The entrance off Schoff Road leads to a trailhead parking lot. The 7.9 miles of trails within the park are for hiking only.
