Bluebird Monitors “Adopt a Box” Program
Thanks to decades of conservation,
the Eastern Bluebirds (Sialia sialis) are making a comeback. Hibernia
County Park is looking for volunteers to continue these efforts. As a Bluebird
Monitor, you will monitor nesting sites, help keep nest boxes suitable for
Bluebird breeding, and count eggs and baby birds. We have 25 boxes that need to be checked
several times during the breeding season, roughly March to September. Park
staff will provide training; no prior birding experience needed. This is a
great way for families and people of all ages to start a new hobby! Email Ranger Chris Place or call 610-383-3812 for more information.
About the Park
Walking tours explore the legacy of the iron masters and country gentlemen who owned the estate. The walking tour focuses on mansion builders Charles Brooks and Colonel Swayne.
From Hibernia Mansion, the tour explores ruins, structures and landscape features located on the Forest Hill and Forge Trails and Lion’s Head Drive that tell the story of Hibernia’s past. Brochures explaining these features are available at the park office.
