Mission Statement
To provide organizational and individual leadership in IT by researching, planning, evaluating, implementing, and supporting contemporary computing technologies that will assist all county departments in accomplishing their mission and to apply IT technology and best practices that make the delivery of government services affordable, efficient, accessible, and responsive to the citizens of Chester County.

Goals and Objectives
Goals

Continue to implement IT best practices in the areas of IT project, issue, and change management, computer and network security, standards development, and service and support methods to ensure high quality, cost-effective IT system delivery, operations, and support.

Upgrade/enhance the County’s computing and telecommunication infrastructure to provide a more reliable, responsive, highly available, secure, and scaleable IT environment for County business functions.

Research and where justified, implement contemporary IT business applications for County departments that enable them to share information, deliver quality services and improve the cost-effectiveness of their operations.

Proactively maintain and support existing production systems to minimize business workflow interruption as defined by our customers.

Update the IT business continuity plan for the County so as to provide for a timely return to normal business operations in the event of a disaster.

Continue to enhance and expand the availability of information to County citizens and staff though the County web site.
Objectives
-
Continue to develop and implement IT best practices in the areas of Project, Issue and Change Management, IT project request process and standards.

Complete and implement approved components of an IT business continuity plan, implement better network protection, refine network security, filtering and monitoring systems and assure appropriate network performance and capacity.

Upgrade and enhance equipment and software to protect against hardware and software obsolescence and assure all systems are properly supported.

Complete the implementation of specific modules of the new Courts Management system within schedule time frames.

Convert the County’s external website (Chesco.org) and the County’s internal website (WebCC) to conform to the County’s Web standards and implement more additional Web-based, self-service capabilities for County residents and municipalities.

Continue to develop new GIS layers to improve the quality of GIS data available to County departments and external customers.

Implement technical, system, operational, and procedural modifications necessary to be compliant with HIPAA and other State mandates.
