The Tax Equalization Division has officially set the Chester County Common Level Ratio (CLR) at 53.8%. The CLR will be effective for all annual appeals heard by the Board of Assessment Appeals during 2016 (Board decisions will be effective for real estate tax bills issued in 2017) and any interim appeals with an effective date of 7/1/2016 through 6/30/2017.
With Act 93 amendments to the Pennsylvania consolidated county assessment law, the exemption appeal filing window is now the same as that for annual appeals. The filing window is May 1 through August 1 annually
To follow the directives under state statute to accomplish the timely/accurate certified tax roll of all Chester County property assessments. Promote and maintain a high standard for customer service in supplying updated and accurate valuation/ownership/history data to property owners and the multitude of customers that rely on property data to carry on their daily operations.
