The Drug Strike Force is the drug enforcement arm of the District Attorney’s Office. The Strike Force is charged with the investigation of major drug trafficking operations existing within Chester County or connected to Chester County. The main goal of the Strike Force is to disrupt the market for illegal drugs by dismantling or disrupting drug trafficking and/or money laundering organizations. The Drug Strike Force also assists local police departments with the investigations of drug crimes. The Strike Force is paired with the District Attorney’s Drug Unit, prosecutors who specialize in drug cases.
The Strike Force also coordinates the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (“HIDTA”) Unit and the Municipal Drug Task Force (“MDTF”).
The HIDTA Unit is a joint initiative between the Chester County District Attorney’s Office and the United States Department of Justice. The HIDTA Unit fuses Chester County Detectives together with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to attack high-level drug prosecutions.
The MDTF handles drug problems specific to Chester County. The MDTF is made up of police officers from local police departments, all with significant experience in drug investigations and with knowledge about local drug problems. The MDTF officers work with the DA’s Drug Strike Force to take down local drug dealers and gather crime-related intelligence across Chester County.
